I always find agricultural machinery interesting and there is an abundance in the farming community in Yambol. This is a typical example of what you see parked up in many places. Seemingly abandoned, these machines are still functional and work the land. This particular tractor will soon be sparked to life for another season coming up.
Yambol is not the prettiest City in Bulgaria, but it does have a unique character which is now in the process of being captured by camera. What you see now in Yambol will be short lived in a world of change, especially with the EU strangling the heart and soul of Bulgaria's culture with directives and uniform regulations.

A Boat On Yambol River Tundzha
This is the first time I have seen a boat on the River Tundzha, but how pleasant it would be to be on it making a trip up and down the river. I'm sure there is many kilometres of navigable stretches gong North to Sliven and South to Turkey

Inside Yambol Train Station
This is inside Yambol's Train Station. With the very tall ceiling it has a very spacious feel to it and an echo when you speak. A little shop is there as well as the ticket office. Modern LED displays show the departures and arrivals which can bee seen on the far wall.

Yambol Folk Waiting For a Bus
After a hard morning of looking for the best deals in the Yambol Bazaar, these Yambol folk now have to wait for a bus to take them home with their goods, namely a hose and tomato plants. What takes the eye is the Bus Station bench which has had its fair share of wear anf tear over the years. Oh, and of course a nice bum on the woman with the pink top!

A Horse and Cart in Yambol
It is still quite a common sight to see a horse and cart trotting along in the outskirts of Yambol. People as friendly as ever, this chap waving as he was riding by. He wasn't camera shy that's for sure. This will however become a rarer sight as time goes on with these horse driven vehicles being banned from the centre of Yambol.

A Bicycle Shop Sign in Yambol
I do get very excited whenever I approach this bicycle shop sign in Yambol. Being a more than keen cyclist I often stop and window shop in the bicycle shop it is advertising. Against the clear blue sky in the warm Yambol weather there is something about the simplicity of the sign that doesn't overkill the promise of expectation in the shop. Needless to say I was on a bike taking this picture.

Log Laden Van in Yambol
One does wonder whether this van would make it to its destination with such a load. With the weight of logs and the state of the roads in Yambol some serious under carriage damage is inevitable it seems. This however is Yambol, Bulgaria and such things happen without any worry for some reason.

Museum of Battle Glory Opens in Yambol
Well not such a long time ago I took a photograph in the same place of an old cadet campus with weapons and jet fighters just laying about. It didn't take long for work to commence and turn this complex into a tourist attraction, namely a Museum of Battle Glory. It is being opened on the 9th May with a host of top nobs attending.
Defence Minister comes in Yambol for the opening of the Museum of battle glory
On May 9, Defense Minister Todor Tagarev mayor of Yambol Georgi Slavov will find the Museum of battle glory in Yambol. This is the first of its kind dedicated municipal museum in the country of this type. It is situated on the territory of the former barracks on the pioneering field of 9 acres, granted by the Ministry of Defence. Defense Ministry was actively assist local...

Basil Brush in Yambol
It was quite a shock to turn up at the Yambol Mall and find that Basil Brush had arrived. His very patriotic sports car made no doubt that he was from the UK. On asking some shoppers whether they knew what this fox's name was, they drew a blank. Pretty sure that hardly any Bulgarian here would know his name as Basil Brush, not surprisingly.

Artillery in a Yambol Based Cadet Compound
Found this in the NW Yambol just out of the City centre. An old Artillery equipment based in a now non working cadet compound. You can also see a fighter jet in the background to match up the one on display close to the Bazaar. There were men working in the compound so I had to be quite discreet and secretive when taking picture here. If I'd have been seen it could have been difficult as I wasn't meant to be in this area.

Sinbad - A Popular Fast Food Place in Yambol
If you have ever been to Yambol and walked along the long pedestrian, you will recognise this place. Called 'Sinbad', it has been a fast food centre for many years and remains very popular to Bulgarians. Having been tempted to snack there myself on many occasions, nice to know they continued do a good serving of ayran (yogurt drink) with pizza slices. Many children feed there everyday, which is not good and also it is frequented by gypsies who take picking of left overs from bins.

A Hole in the Ground in Yambol
Good job it was daylight and I was aware of my surround otherwise it could have been a nasty experience. This hole in the ground just appeared before me as I tramped over some rough ground in Yambol. It had obviously been use as a drainage point at some time but the infrastructure surrounding it and its purpose has moved on with the hole remaining. This is a common find in Yambol.

A Yambol Bus Passing Through
You have to be quick to catch these Yambol Buses passing through. This one sped passed me like there was no tomorrow. I still can't understand why they have three doors, but suspect that the front one is the entrance and the other two are exits.

A Harley Davidson Motorbike Parked in Yambol
It is quite common to see Harley Davidson motorbikes around Yambol, you usually hear them before you see them. This one I saw but didn't hear, no doubt a club member of 'The Riders' had parked up his pride and joy in a place where admirers could view. Indeed a fine looking, well kept machine and probably worth the same or more than many apartment homes in Yambol.

The Tundzha Hotel in Yambol
A dominant structure near the centre of Yambol is the Tundzha Hotel against the backdrop of a clear blue sky. You can see the Tundzha Hotel from most .locations in Yambol which is located right by the Yambol City Park. I've never stayed there but booked it up for people who were quite comfortable there. Not as pricey as the Diana Palace Hotel though.

A Chess Table in the Yambol City Park
I love the design of this table in the City Park in Yambol. Brand new last year it is designed to be used as a chess board, which is a very popular outside game in Yambol. However I would advice many a chess player to bring a cushion with them to place on the raw metal seats. By the way there are many of these scattered around so no queuing to use just one.

A Wall of Many Pastel Shades in Yambol
Simple to the extreme, unique one might say, but certainly different considering all the other wall that are mainly whitewashed in Yambol. Why this design is the question that begs to be answered. I can only surmise that some form of practicality prevails. Namely that the owner didn't have enough paint in one colour to complete, so used what was in stock in this case various pastel shades. Could well be a number of tester paints for free and decided not to follow up with a purchase - yes that might be it.

A Stray Dog Stirred in Yambol
Walking through Yambol stray dogs are still on the prowl in most places. This one was asleep until I stopped when it stirred as I took the picture. Half asleep as you can see, persons taking pictures was new to this canine. This was a loner dog, but probably later in the evening it will join into a pack and hunt throughout the night as they do. Individually they are cowards but in a pack, (or more appropriately a gang) they are a proven danger to the public.

Fungi in Yambol Town Park
Fungi can be seen growing in Yambol Town Park is you look very carefully. Damp conditions have obviously set their growth along with a little warm spell. Don't think they are edible though. Will be on the lookout for other varieties of mushrooms, toadstools and other fungi in the future.

Credit Ripe in Yambol
The attraction of credit appeals to many in Yambol. This bring additional problem with excessive interest rates and shark loans abound. Who is to blame for the temptation to spend money people haven't got? Simple the Western European ideals and materialism that has spread through various media avenues in Yambol. Only one winner really, the greedy and bullies.

Lonely Figure Sitting Out in Yambol
It was cold, it was overcast and a big chill wind hits like a dagger but this lonely figure braved these and sat out for a while. The wind really does hit you as it whips around the Block apartments in Yambol, no time to dwell if you have any sense as the call of a warm home beckons and that's where I went with haste.

'The Bikers' Gaff in Yambol
It has been featured before on this site and here it is again. 'The Bikers' gaff or the place they meet up on occasions. Being this time of year (winter that is), I guess they gather less frequently. A very distinctive place which has Hell's Angels written all over it.

A Roughly Repaired Bench in Yambol
It seems that either they didn't have a tape measure or they didn't have a saw when this bench was repaired. But my guess is that they had both but it would have been extra work and it works quite well as it is. In fact you can get more people sitting down the way it was left! So practical!
