It was quite mystery viewing these two similar trees next to each other in Yambol. Why was one in Autumn mode and the other in Summer? They are only two metres apart.
Yambol is not the prettiest City in Bulgaria, but it does have a unique character which is now in the process of being captured by camera. What you see now in Yambol will be short lived in a world of change, especially with the EU strangling the heart and soul of Bulgaria's culture with directives and uniform regulations.

Walled Mural in Yambol City Centre
Many people walk past this pace and do not notice the mural on the side of the wall in Yambol City Centre. As with the tradition of Yambol being the centre of agriculture the design is based around farming and harvesting. Nice to see this reminder of the rural elements so akin to Yambol in the City Centre.

A Traditional Little Grill Stand in Yambol Centre
It is nice to see this little grill stand is still practising the art of serving out Bulgarian cuisine. In the midst of junk food joint there is still the pleasure of choice around and glad to see the business made is constant, not least from me on occasion

Yet Another Western Style Fast Food Joint in Yambol
This fast food joint suddenly appeared int he centre of Yambol recently. It used to be a cafe/bar where there were tables and seats outside - and well used I might add. This place now just has no atmosphere or character, such a shame Yambol is slowly bowing to junk food places like this.

Improvised Public Waste Bin in Yambol
Right in the heart of Yambol you will see many feats of improvisation, here is a perfect example given. The metal waste bin was probably salvaged by scavengers for illegal profit and replaced with a a former plastic water container. ...And it works as you can see.

UK Fashion Dominates Yambol Shops
It hasn't gone unnoticed, but in Yambol if you look at the fashion shops you will see that UK stated designs and the Great Britain flag dominates. This of course is reflected on the clothes Yambol people wear who of course buy them. Not sure what I think about that seeing as I wanted to get away from the UK so badly and am reminded frequently of it here. Unfortunately most people here just see the UK through media eyes and not from first hand experience hence the rose tinted glass view.

A Unique Yambol Ashtray

Musical Chairs with Yambol Banks
This used to be the the site for Unicredit Bulbank. It close down quite a few years ago with the place vacant. Now it has been reopened in the name of Societe Generale Expressbank. Much as I dislike banks, at least the site is now not derelict as it was for a few years.

The Unhealthiest Shop in Yambol
This Yambol shop has been trading here for many years. It has to be the unhealthiest shop in Yambol. I can't see one item that is good for your health. tobacco, alcohol, crisps, ice cream and coca cola. I might add that the shop is always busy.

Sign of Autumn in Yambol
This fruit juice stand is usually open all hours during the late Spring and Summer in Yambol. The lid is shut now and will remain shut through to next Spring. Yes indeed a sign of Autumn's arrival despite the warm weather we are getting this week.

Yambol's Cheapest Pharmacy
If you ever get to visit this Pharmacy just 100 metres away from The Diana Hotel, you will have to wait to be served. It's always busy and for good reason. It is known to be the cheapest Pharmacy in Yambol, which is why I use it.

Yambol's Hotel Bulgaria still in business under the shadow of the posher Tundzha Hotel. Having spent a night in the place many years ago it just give s a basic room with a bed without views. For many though the price is the attraction, probably the cheapest in town.

Yambol Kids on World War Two Tanks
A trip to the Museum of Battle Glory sees a Yambol kid having fun on a World War Two tank. It is good that youngsters attend the museum and learn a bit about the negativity of war.

Another Tank on Show in Yambol's Battle of Glory Museum

The Widely Hated Blue Parking Zone in Yambol
Until recently parking your vehicle in Yambol was free in most places. There trend spread from other town and cities is now to introduce a blue zone where yo have to pay a fee for parking or get fined a hefty amount to get your vehicle unclamped or recovered after it has been towed away. Big hate factor her in Yambol, especially as there is ample room for parking in the city and a money making exercise by the municipality! I have to agree having been fined for being clamped.

A Former Rose Garden now Lawned in Yambol
This used to be an established Rose Garden and to be quite honest most of the year it looked quite scruffy prior and after the. roses were open. It is now a low maintenance lawned are with shrub borders. Roses somehow have a more desirable feature here especially as Bulgaria is famed for the roses.

Yambol's First 24 Hour Supermarket
There was a time when there were no 24 hour shops in Yambol. This was the first non stop supermarket and people don't really know how they coped without it. Often used for getting alcohol in the early hours of the morning after clubbing! (I know!)

At The Back of The Municipal Offices in Yambol
If anyone cares to wander round the back of Yambol's Municipal Offices in the City centre, you will find a shaded seating area with a small garden and historical reminders of old Yambol on the walls. Not many peoples see this area mainly because they don't know it is there and have no reason to explore after they have paid their bills in the office at the front.

Yambol's Brass Band in Action
Yambol's Brass Band often turn out for official celebrations and special occasions in Yambol. There are some real characters withing the fold. Yambol's Business Centre The Mall Without Business
This grand business centre or The Mall was a spanking brand new complex that dominated the centre of Yambol. Intended for businesses seemed like a good idea. There was a bank and various retail shops including a Piccadilly Supermarket on the lower levels. they have all closed down and moved out in recent times. Rent too high? Yambol folk without disposable income? Probably a combination of both. The building however still dominates but nobody hangs around the place now and is like a ghost town.

A New Fast Food Joint in Yambol
This is one of Yambol's newest fast food joints. The rise in fast food takeaway shops continues. The name Aladin is part of other fast food joints already established under the same company. typical food for sale there as pizza, hamburgers and kebabs and of course chips with everything. Can't say I'd use the place when so much Bulgarian traditional food is for sale elsewhere.
