This monument made up of doves and an olive branch doesn't exactly hit you in the face dynamically. What is does though it give a very calming feeling with it's soft coloured metal and message given over. I would say many people walking past don't even notice it as the metal is life a mirror and is almost camouflaged with the reflection of the surround as you can see in the picture.
Yambol is not the prettiest City in Bulgaria, but it does have a unique character which is now in the process of being captured by camera. What you see now in Yambol will be short lived in a world of change, especially with the EU strangling the heart and soul of Bulgaria's culture with directives and uniform regulations.

The City Centre in Yambol (Ямбол)
A front view of City Centre Yambol where there are an array of designer shops inside. Never seen this place busy at all, but convenient as they have a free toilet use there! Only been in their once this year, and that was to spend a penny. Can't be doing with designer stuff prices.

Piles of Leaves Gathered Up for Collection in Yambol (Ямбол)
After the women have swept up the leaves into numerous piles all the way down the road, they are now left for collection by the men on their trucks in due course. A common sight this time of year.

A Cosy Bed for a Yambol (Ямбол) Dog
Not a conventional bed for a dog, but he fits like a glove under the grapevine on a bed of leaves as a mattress. Looks very cosy indeed there and didn't mind having his picture taken.

Tree Cutting in Progress in a Yambol (Ямбол) Suburb
There comes a time where trees become a liability. With so many trees in Yambol this has to be done on a selective basis as here. There has been damage to property with the aged trees which are now being cut down. Shame to see them go, but will they be replaced. We will see over the next few days and weeks.

Grapes Fermented and Ready for Rakia Making in Yambol (Ямбол)
It is rakia making season in Bulgaria with the grapes being fermented out to go on an be distilled into the National Bulgarian drink Rakia. This was seen on the street where the hydrometer showed zero meaning all the sugar has been converted into alcohol and ready to take to the Rakia making stills in homes and rakia houses scattered around the country.
Check out my Rakia Site on this subject:

Appropriately Placed Shop Advertising Board in Yambol (Ямбол)
With a hole in the ground from a dislodged paving slab the shop decided to appropriately place their advertising board over it. Sensible or what?

A Nice and Well Looked After Yambol (Ямбол) Childrens' Playground
It is no surprise that Playground's are looked after in Yambol (Ямбол). Many are not in good condition solely because of the age and wear from extreme weathers, never from criminal damage. this one will last for decades and the children's' children with use it in the future

An Apartment Block in Yambol's (ямбол) Stara Planina
Living together in an apartment block for many is not their choice of home. However, it is home to thousands in Yambol who are very happy they have a place to live that is warm and economical to run. This block is in a decent area of Yambol, well looked after and only five minutes walk fro the Centre of Yambol (ямбол).

Simple Boot Scraper on a Yambol (ямбол) Street
This was quite hard to spot when walking past. On closer inspection it was quite apparent hat this was a boot scraper cemented into a public walkway. Good idea, but there was no sign of muddy areas in the vicinity. Guess the owner(s) of the property it stands out must work in muddy conditions and use it before entering their grounds

No Entry Sign on Nearside of Yambol (ямбол) Trailer
Attention to detail and safety in Bulgaria is sometimes hard to find. In this instance it is a gem with this no entry sign on the nearside of Yambol registered trailer. It lights up as well which is a bonus. however will other driver adhere to the warning?

Improvised Pipe Seating Area in Yambol (ямбол)
Swa this locally and nothing surprises me in terms so innovation by local Yambol (ямбол) Folk. This improvised pipe seating area is a typical example of using what is available for practical purposes. Quite often I will see it being used by a row of elderly gossipers on a warm and barmy evening.

New Gambling Venue in Yambol (Ямбол)
A new gambling venue has just opened in Yambol (Ямбол). This replaces another former gambling institution namely a bank. This new business is at least a bit more upfront about it. There is a saturation in advertising lotteries to an audience who can only dream about winning unfortunately they become even more worse of by taking part.

A Simple White Road Bike Parked in Yambol (Ямбол)
Parked up in the Centre of Yambol (Ямбол) was something very dear to me. A simple white road bike the only extra is a stand which was n't being used in this case. The Royston is marked on the frame, sound very English but with no record of that it seems as if it is purely a fashion name. Looks the part though!

Beautiful Place to Rest Your Legs in Stara Planina Yambol (Ямбол)
Only a couple of stones throws from my home in Yambol. (Ямбол),
this is a beautiful place to rest your weary legs in the midst of well tendered gardens by locals. So happy to live in this part of the world!

Colourful Tree Against a Bland Background in Yambol (Ямбол)
Tis colourful Autumnal tree just lights up a bland background in Yambol (Ямбол) in complete contrast. Natures way of showing beauty and embarrassing man made concrete structures.

Strange Solicitor Premises in Yambol (Ямбол)
This is the entrance to a Solicitor's premises. Very strange to have a four-leaved clover abou the main door and a black board to presumably make it secure from crime when closed.

The Catholic Church Near Yambol's (Ямбол) City Park
This is Yambol's (Ямбол) Catholic Church seen from the street. If you look more closely as you pass the church you will see the entrance and garden untidy and in disrepair. Seems that there is a lack of care bind this grand and tidy facade we see in front of us..

Yambol's (Ямбол) St Nicholas Church Seen Through the Trees
Peering through the trees you can see Yambol's Saint Nicholas Church glowing in the Autumn sun. It was so inviting I went in an lit a candle for good health.

Out of Tune Piano Bar in Yambol (Ямбол)
The Piano Bar used to be a decent place to wine and dine in Yambol (Ямбол). It is situated just south of the City Park. There was a Grand Piano in the place which used to be played, in fact I was offered the piano to practice many moons ago, although I think they were thinking of free entertainment for customers at the time. All changed now though as the Piano Bar is is need of tuning and completely run down since closing a few years ago. Shame"

Unique and Distinctive Landmark Near The Centre of Yambol (Ямбол)
This unique and distinctive land has been here for years near the centre of Yambol (Ямбол). A raised floor which must have had some function prior to covering secondhand cars up for sale.

Saint Archangel Michael Day Celebrated in Yambol's (Ямбол) St Nicholas' Church
The Bulgarian Orthodox Church dedicates the day of November 8th to St. Archangel Michael. People call the feast day Archangels’ Day. I went to Saint Nicholas' Church today in honour of this along with many other Yambol (Ямбол) Folk. As you can see the candle stand is full of candle lit with the many visitors having been here.

Making Space for Flowers in Yambol (Ямбол)
This isn't unique, in fact quite common to see a paving stone purposely removed to make way for flowers to be planted in Yambol (Ямбол). And of course respected by locals passing by to get established and bloom.

Golden Carpet of Leaves To A Yambol (Ямбол) Apartment Block
A warm feeling must be felt with this golden carpet laid out to an entrance to an apartment block in Yambol (Ямбол). With Autumn now firmly established the vibrant colours of nature never fail to appeal to the eye.

Home Grown Fruit and Vegetables For Sale in Yambol (Ямбол)
This is one of my favourite places to buy fruit and vegetable in Yambol (Ямбол). Situated in the Borovets area, local residents set up their home grown produce to sell the the public. Far better prices than the shops and the bigger market places and of course quality just as good with the generations of know how in Yambol small holdings and gardens

Swastikas Still Seen in Many Places in Yambol (Ямбол)
There is a section of Yambol (Ямбол) folk who have Neo-Nazi tendencies. Proof of this is shown in Yambol with graffiti displaying swastikas seen on walls. Very distinctive and insulting, but that's freedom of expression I guess and somewhat tolerated here

Smoking Chimneys and Green Tomatoes in Yambol
The smell of burning wood was the first clue to the sight of the first smoking chimney seen in Yambol this Autumn. Alongside the green tomatoes ready for picking and preserving is a sure sign of the Winter ahead

Emergency Tree Surgery in Yambol
After a night of very strong winds, emergency tree surgery was needed to prevent this tree falling on the adjacent house. Danger over, but no great Spring blossoms on this tree next year.
