Well it may be one day before March but with the Christmas tree still holding decorations from December you may be forgiven for thinking it is a White Christmas with the heavy snowfall recently.

This weekend saw the traditional Kukeri festival in Yambol. Beginning Friday evening and going through to Sunday it is probably the biggest event of the year for Yambol. No fear of evil spirits hanging around after the events over the weekend.

What caught my eye was the vibrancy of this Silver Birch tree in Yambol City Centre Garden. A very healthy specimen of this variety of tree is a sight to see with a backdrop of brilliant blue Yambol Sky.

I was a bit bemused as to how this happened and what the purpose was behind it. A piece of cobbled land that seemingly has no purpose whatsoever. Entirely surrounded by a kerb it feels like no man's land.

We see here in Yambol a typical Apartment block entrance. As with many we find cats and kitten hanging around fro food which is often given to them by the residents. Better these around than rats and mice. You can just see a kitten on the pavement on the left side of the entrance.

Tucked away in the backstreets of Yambol, a couple of stone throws away from the City Centre stands the Arfa Hotel. Looks very inviting on the ground level restaurant with an enticing menu standing outside.

Looking at the Yambol Fire Brigade premises today, I found it a strange place to find a tank. Only the fire fighters know why it is there I guess.

A Bee House in Yambol

This is where all the Beekeepers get their supplies. This is in the South of Yambol and there is another in the North side of the City. Only one customer in the place when I was there so it wasn't swarming with Beekeepers.

Someone Is Going To Get Wet in Yambol

You can see what is going to happen here. The Bus is going to stop at the bus stop, hit the puddle on entry and the passenger is going to get wet. I waited to see if this would happen and it did much to only my amusement!

If you venture southwest from Yambol's City Centre, you will find this quaint little church. The garden in the forefront is am enticing invitation to visit and say a pray or two.

Christmas Decorations Still on Yambol's Christmas Tree in February

It is now well into February with Spring fast approaching and the Christmas Tree in Yambol City Centre still has Christmas decorations hanging from it. Looks lovely sparkling in the sun so who's complaining? 

Secondary School St. Kliment Ohridski Being Renovated in Yambol

This secondary School is right next to the hospital Hospital "Saint Panteleymon". It is being fully renovated which must cost a fortune. Progress is being made with the roof being tackled right now. Just hope it stays dry for the most part.

A School Playground in Yambol

Walking past one of Yambol's many schools today it was noticeable that this playground had some good combinations of urban life and nature. I hope those trees develop and give a little more dominance in years to come.

A Sealed off Entrance to one of Yambol's Apartment Blocks

After this entrance to an apartment block was sealed off, the scene inevitably was subject to graffiti from locals. Not pleasant to my eyes but at least it is not violently vandalised. I quite often see children sitting in the entrance just talking and eating their lunches during school break times. 

Blues for a Car Driver in Yambol's Blue Zone

I will be the blues for a car driver in Yambol when he or she picks up their car later. It has been clamped due to parking in the Blue Zone without paying the fee. They face a hefty fine and a wait to be unclamped.

A trail of orangey red clouds was lined up heading East to make a fine colourful sky over Yambol tis evening. In for a lovely day with the saying, 'Red Sky at Nigh Shepherds' Delight'.
