The River Tundzha - View From the Park Hotel Yambol

Crossing the small bridge by the Park Hotel Yambol we get a fine view of the River Tundzha as it travel South through the Town Park. Quite often you see Kingfishers diving to and fro in this stretch of the river.

Paper Blossoms on a Tree in Yambol's City Park

Not too sure what this was all about, but this tree was spotted sporting paper blossoms at the South end of Yambol City Park in the grounds of the Gold Horn (Zlaten Rog) Restaurant.

Insulation Being Fitted to an Apartment in Yambol

Yes it was very cold this winter in Yambol apartments so this particular resident has organised some insulation on the exterior wall. The worker looks quite precarious dangling from the side of the face of the block.

The River Tundzha Running Out of Yambol

Seen from the South side of Yambol you can see the River Tundzha running towards me on its way to Turkey and beyond. Quite high waters still from the early spring drowning we had.

Flower Bed Blooming in Yambol City Park

Yu need sunglasses to see these glorious blooming flowers in Yambol's City Park. You have to enter the park from the back end as the bridge from the City Centre is closed for repair. Well worth the extra walk to see this.

The New Park Hotel Yambol

This is the new Park Hotel Yambol now fully open for business. It has taken quite a while for the development to be completed but now it looks fit for a prince.

Bedding Plants Blooming in Yambol City Centre

The bedding plants laid out earlier in the year now are in full bloom in the spring sunshine in Yambol City Centre. Always a pleasure to walk past especially this time of year.

No Firearms Allowed in Yambol

Always give a hint of fear thinking that people would be carrying firearms anywhere let alone in this one place that bans it. I wouldn't argue with someone carrying one if they did enter with a firearm!

One Lonely Bike Parked Up Outside Yambol's Business Centre

With the Business Centre in Yambol vacant you will not find anyone around in the surrounding area. However, today I saw this lonely bike park up only to find out that it belonged to a security guard who patrols this area. He was watching his own bike throughout his duties.

A Sideways Look at The Mall Yambol

the Mall Yambol looks impressive from most angles, but from the main road it doesn't capture too much glamour. The garage parking entrance is just on the nearside left, but not used that much in the main due to parking fees in excess of the blue zone fees outside.

Always fun watching children play with these little springs that run along Georgi S. Rakovski Street in Yambol. They also have changing lights that can be seen much more clearly at night.

Bridge Renovation in Yambol's City Park

Major renovation is currently being made in the bridge giving access to Yambol'c City Park. today the old main waste pipe is being replaces with new one. This was watched by many as the delicate movements of cranes working together had to be synchronized for success.  

The Mall Complex in Yambol City Centre

On a warm, sunny Spring morning stand The Mall Complex in Yambol's City Centre. Typical of Yambol with the shops in the basement, 1st and second floors and apartments above. The landscape that surrounds is a great place to relax away from the crowds and traffic.

The Theatre From a Different Angle in Yambol

Most pictures of the Theatre in Yambol is taken head on, this one is taken from a difference angle. This shows the side fountains and flower bed that wouldn't have been seen otherwise.

Yambol Police Station sits basking int he sun today. Always nervous taking pictures in this area as I got accosted here many years ago just doing that, the Police thought I was a spy!

Fire Engine Ladder Used for DIY in Yambol

Well I guess if you have the resources you may as well use them anyway you can. Her is an example of the ladder from Yambol fire engine being used for DIY repair painting the front wall of the Fire Station. Didn't look too stable from where I was watching.

The Old Euroshop Still Standing and Derelict in Yambol

This is Dimitar Dimov an old school Bulgarian politician from the Bulgarian Communist Party. This plaque is displayed in a street called The Black Sea. There are many plaques in Yambol of this nature. 

A Dead Rat in Yambol

Seeing a dead rat is quite unusual in Yambol. Normally they are alive and thriving, so I don't know why this particular rat wasn't part of the rat parties they have here. The many cats which frequent the place this was found are scared of them so it wasn't hunted down by them.

Three Pastel Coloured Waste Bins in Yambol

Refreshing to see new waste bins in Yambol especially being pastel coloured and three of them. They are used and if single usually overflows so that problem solved.

Gypsies Gathering Grass in Yambol

Spring is here and the grass grow faster than life during this season. This brings out the Gypsies in their horse and cart gathering the fresh succulent grass for feed. After all its free.

More Neglected Buildings in Yambol's Main Hospital

Yet more evidence of neglect and lack of investment in Yambol's main Hospital grounds. As you can see the facade of this building is in a state bordering on dangerous. How much longer will it sit there unattended?

The Memorial by Yambol City Park

Situated just outside the South entrance of Yambol City Park stands this memorial that is well tended and use in ceremonies throughout the year. Nice to see respect for a history that should not be repeated. No graffiti either!

Blossoms in Full Bloom in Yambol

In my opinion Spring is the best time in Yambol as nature gradually comes to life. Blossoms in full bloom on many trees and looking forward to the fruits that follow on many.

A Dome Shaped Roof on a Cafe in Yambol

This seemingly simple Cafe has something more spectacular about it with an impressive dome shaped roof. Guaranteed customers are unaware of this as they sip theri beverages inside. 

Outdoor Hospital Bed in Yambol

Whilst walking through the main Hospital grounds in Yambol I came across a section where someone was sleeping under the stairway. Surely not normal to have patients sleeping in beds outside. Notice also there is a stairway to nowhere. By the way this place is a surgery that treats children.

Uniform Lined Up Garages in Yambol

The uniformity of these green garages caught my eye situated in the Eastern side of Yambol. Not just the uniformed colour and shape but the numbers that count down as you go into the distance. If you look carefully you can still see a little bit of Winter hanging around even though we are deep into Spring now.

Accordian Player Busking in Yambol City Centre

Often seen in Yambol City Centre is the accordion player busking whilst basking in the sun. He doesn't make much money but happily plays all day with a smile and many conversations with passers by.

Rubbish Tip by Yambol Hospital Entrance

This quite surprised me when I saw it. A load of rubbish dumped by one of the entrances in the main Yambol hospital. Not what you expect in a place for health.

Yambol City Park Closed for Renovation

This is really a great inconvenience to thousands of Yambol folk, especially on a warm sunny day. The Yambol City Park is closed for renovation. This is a major project and the park will be closed for most of the Spring. The wait goes on for a place to walk, jog and relax in beautiful surrounds for the moment.
