Always a pleasure to walk past this furniture shop with this tree full of pink blooms in Yambol. The focus is entirely on the tree and not the furniture sign pointing to the shop. There is a link however as most of the furniture is made from wood.

This is just one of many bins in Yambol with contents of empty beers bottles the morning after. These will be taken by Gypsies late in the day to add to their collection of plastics which they collect daily. The collections exchanged for money by recycling companies. 

Sunset on Yambol's Road to Sliven

As you walk across the bridge over Yambol's River Tundzha on the road to Sliven you will need sunglasses at sunset time. Midsummer give a blaze that could easily blind you if stared at. Trying to see traffic coming crossing the road is a problem too.

Bulgarian National Flag Flown Proudly on a Yambol Home

It is so refreshing to see Bulgarians proudly flying their National Flag outside their homes. This is a common sight here in Yambol. My thought going back to the UK where you would get tagged as a racist if you fly the English National Flag (St George) outside your home. RIDICULOUS!

New Road Finally Taking Shape in Yambol

After 4 months the new road in the Diana area of Yambol is finally taking shape. There will be another 6 months though before it is finally fit for traffic,

1 Lev Shop Business Closed Down

This 1 Lev shop business only opened last year and now is closed. Never saw anyone shopping there throughout that time so no surprise in finding this out.

New Cemented Place for Dustbin Wheelie Bins in Yambol

With a newly renovated school nearing completion the pavements surrounding site needed replacing. this section is being prepared fro wheelie bins which were placed there formerly.

Car Wash With a View in Yambol

Every time I walk past this car wash in Yambol my focus is on the poster on the wall with a beautiful woman in her swimsuit. Guess after viewing this one would need a cold shower conveniently placed on the site.

A Childrens' Slide That Isn't in Yambol

This Childrens' slide took my eye from the fact that its slide is missing. Steps to nowhere apparently. Not been used for years with a little garden formed on the foundations. Quite a sad picture as it turns out without its function.

Sunset Over Yambol's River Tundzha

Across the road North of Yambol City Park is the River Tundzha that flows past. this evening a lovely sunset was caught saying goodnight to the river.

An early alarm to catch the sunrise at Kabile which is only some 3 kilometers from Yambol. The effort is well worthwhile with other who also made the trip with flags as you can see. You cannot buy moments like this.

A Sheltered Area to SIt in Yambol City Park

In the midday sun it is very hot in Yambol City Park so finding this sheltered place is quite a relief. Set in the middle of the park it is a superb place to rest your feet and hid from the sun for a while.

Almost like a contemporary art exhibit, this array of gas meters encased transposes ordinary items them into an interesting feature. And quite practical being easily read and kept clean. Unfortunately gas prices go up 10% this month in Bulgaria.

Now the warm Summer is upon us in Yambol you will see many lizards under the name of Gecko. They appear everywhere, even in the home as you can see here. The are harmless and do us all a favour by having a diet of insects.

Inside Yambol's St Nicholas Church

On a quiet day I sneaked a picture inside St Nicholas Church situated near the Centre of Yambol. If it was busy I may well have not taken this picture as it is not really allowed. One of the best places to reflect on things and think about what life is all about.

Another Statue Stand Without Statue in Yambol City Park

Yet another statue that has been removed from its stand in Yambol City Park. This etching on the stand have also been erased leaving no clue as to who this related to. Would be a good idea to put another statue in its place, but maybe the authorities want this as a reminder of bygone times.

The striking colours of this little garden set up on Yambol City Centre took my eye. Also the symmetrical form adds to the warming scene here. Right next to a coffee bar a great place to sip and enjoy nature's creations manipulated by humans.

Pretty Serious Roadworks in Yambol

It hasn't gone unnoticed, but there are some serious roadworks in the Borovets area headin out towards Benkovsky. It is due to last for 10 months so I've heard. No compensation is being paid to businesses on the route to those I spoke too, but then that's not unusual in Bulgaria.

On a hot and humid day with temperatures above 30 C what better place to stop in Yambol City Park than a watering area. As always the fountain is working and there are free seats. It just needs a shelter from the blazing sun to become the perfect place to refresh yourself.

A Semi-Circled Covered Seating Area in Yambol City Park

Yet another pleasant place to rest your weary feet in Yambol City Park. This is an ideal place to get out of the hot sun with a sem-circle of seating covered with a roof. It faces the Eastern exit from the park and a view of the Shell Garage on the main road beyond.

Headless Statue Due to Vandals in Yambol City Park

This piece of vandalism was made only recently and sets a degree of despair when seen. Unfortunately, this is what we are having to put up with now in this modern day and age of disrespect for the environment. I can't see how this statue can be repaired and whoever did it will have to live with the guilt if they have any.

There is usually a pot of flowers in the centre of the circle often seen being laid  and watered by pensioners who tend to the area from goodwill. It is a small memorial and quite refreshing to see it being respected by the thousands of visitors who walk past it in Yambol City Park.

This ring of benches situated in Yambol City Park is often used with groups in communal activities including meditation and Far Eastern style exercises. It is also frequented by individuals who want a bit of peace and quiet. The is something quite magical about the set up when in the centre.

A lovely seating area in Yambol City Park with the option to play chess whilst there. This area is often used for a small picnic by many, but observing chess being played is a rarity.

Vacant Statues in Yambol City Park

During Communist times in Yambol there were statues proudly standing here in Yambol City Park. Since this bygone age the stands are now vacant and remain a faint reminder of what was in this part of the world.

Beautiful Day But Empty Park in Yambol

Strange but on a warm sunny day with temperatures close to 30 C you would think that Yambol City Park would be swarming with folk walking with their prams, dogs or own their bikes. Today there wasn't' a soul about as I wander through the empty paths. Mad dogs and Englishmen perhaps?

Bright Electric Power Grid Components in Yambol

It may seem pretty boring when you think about electric power grid sites, but this one in Yambol took my eye. the brightly coloured components sitting on top of the system stood out like children colouring crayons. jot quite sure whether this is the norm in grid stations generally, but cheers the place up a bit.
