 This fig tree has sprouted up by the side of a Yambol Apartment Block. An unlikely position for survival but against all odds it is doing well. Nature always wins fights for survival.

There are many fig trees in Yambol, this one is used by all local to it. Not only for the fruiting figs that are delicious but for the wood in the Autumn when pruning.

This is quite common where fruit trees and grapevines are planted outside apartment blocks in Yambol. In this instance it is a fig tree, however besides the figs each year as a bonus I do wonder what is happening to the foundations of the apartment block and whether some serious damage is being inflicted below ground level.
