I don't know how many tens of thousands of people walk past this tree and didn't notice the mushrooms that were growing there at the base of the trunk. I think the species is Ganoderma applanatum but a very old one. Not edible I might add, but there are many other varieities of mushrooms growing wild here in Yambol that are. The gypsies usually are the first out to pick them and sell on the street.Yambol is not the prettiest City in Bulgaria, but it does have a unique character which is now in the process of being captured by camera. What you see now in Yambol will be short lived in a world of change, especially with the EU strangling the heart and soul of Bulgaria's culture with directives and uniform regulations.

A Dangling Carp Outside A Yambol Fishmonger's Shop
This fishmonger shop in Yambol city centre is situated next to my local hairdresser and is one of a few fishmonger shops around. I don’t buy any fish from this one, but I do like the big plastic carp that hangs from the shop front. Again, this is untouched by the youth of Yambol and has happily dangled there for years and years to come hopefully.

Yambol's Tundzha River - View Looking North

Another view of Yambol's Tundzha rivert his time looking in a northwards direction heading towards Sliven. There are usually many fishermen here looking for a small snack for an evening meal. I've fished and tried some of the fish from this river and they are very tasty indeed. No doubt this will happen mnay more times now spring is here.
