I have to walk past this open manhole every day when I go to the shops for my daily supplies. I know where it is so there is no danger of me falling into it. Newcomers however might have a different story.
Yambol is not the prettiest City in Bulgaria, but it does have a unique character which is now in the process of being captured by camera. What you see now in Yambol will be short lived in a world of change, especially with the EU strangling the heart and soul of Bulgaria's culture with directives and uniform regulations.

Shattered Tarmac Surrounds a Yambol Manhole
Like many other manholes and drains in Yambol, there is shattered tarmac that surrounds them. The level of the manhole cover often is not level with the road, therefore, takes more impact when driven over, hence the surrouding rubble.

A Broken Pink Manhole Cover Broken in Yambol
Local found a broken pink manhole cover and decided to warn people about it by putting twigs. The very next day there was a new cover replaced. This is a common sight on Yambol's cobbled roads.
