Goodbye Yambol Trees

This is the sign of new times in Yambol. The widening of a main road into the town centre is being made. This of course is purely to accommodate more and more cars. The worse part is that this used to be a lovely tree lined road. Every single tree has been chopped down. It remains to be seen if new trees are planted once the road has been finished.

Key Cutting Shop

Opposite on the East side of St George's Church is a little box shop. It is minute and the service providedd is key cutting. We always use this shop as it is the best value. There are other key cutting shops around but this one is owned by an old master of the craft and his tools are the same age as him, around 70 years old. It is like walking back in time. He also repairs spectacle frames as part of the service.

Yambol's North Bazaar Traffic Jams

This is the Yambol's north based bazaar. Over the last couple of years traffic jams and parking problems have arrived and in the last year has seen and massive increase. There was always a place to park and most of the time the streets used to be almost empty two or three years ago. Now you can't move and often get blocked in. It will be only a short matter of time for parking fees to be introduced here, but the car has become the more important than anything else here.

Jet Fighter Plane in Yambol Town Centre

Anyone who knows Yambol and the town cetnre will know where this jet fighter plane is. For those who don't it is just 50 metres from the bazaar. If you head north up a little flight of stairs. you will see it on your left. This plane has been there for years, it is never vandalised even though played with by many children who climb on the wings as you can see in the picture. It is used as a meeting point for many people including myself.

Sunset in the Technopolis Car Park

Sunset in the new Technopolis superstore car park on the Elhovo road. doen't matter where you are in the world sunsets have a special atmosphere. Much rather be in the car park than in the shop this evening.
