If you look closely you will see plastic bottles hanging everywhere. This garage owner in Yambol is obvioysly a plastic bottle lover, no doubt they come in use for something.
Yambol is not the prettiest City in Bulgaria, but it does have a unique character which is now in the process of being captured by camera. What you see now in Yambol will be short lived in a world of change, especially with the EU strangling the heart and soul of Bulgaria's culture with directives and uniform regulations.

The Yambol Plastic Bottle Garden
Even though the temperatures in Yambol today were in the 20s, the nights are still cold and a thought for the garden comes into play. this little patch is in a public place and neatly arranged plastic bottles protect the plants from overnight chills. Typical Bulgarian this using recycling to good effect.

Another Plastic Bottled Public Garden

Clear, green and brown plastic bottle in another public garden next to one of the big block apartment buildings in Yambol. These are attended by the local residents and for a change they are growing geraniums and not food produce this time. Again, the respect that this little garden has based in a resdiental area of the City centre is total from all the community.

Yambol's Plastic Bottled Nursery

Just 200 metres from Yambol City centre right next to the Yambol Polytechnic is an open bit of ground where home made incubators forming a DIY nursery. They are covering seedlings that will have an early start in their growing cycle. this again shows the rescourcefulness of recycling plastic bottles nad the respect that passers by have not to tamper with them. Even next to the biggest student complex in the city where many teenagers pass, no vandalism - A nice and comforting thought.
