Fishing is Popular in Yambol's River Tundzha

 During the fishing season, there are always anglers looking for an evening fish meal by the side of the River Tundzha in Yambol. It is very popular for good reason as it supplements the food bills.

A Place for Fishing on the River Tundzha in Yambol

 This is a favourite place for fishing on the River Tundzha on this foggy day. There are anglers there but hidden by the shrubs on the banks. 

Fishing off the Bridge over Yambol's Tundzha River

 Evening meals are potentially solved with many people fishing off the bridge over the River Tundzha in Yambol. Whilst watching I saw at least three fish caught over a ten-minute duration, so time is not wasted with no results.

Where's the Yambol Angler?

Walking along the Tundzha River I noted an absent angler. Guess he was on a toilet break. Could have quite easily taken his place and fished all day. Love the little plastic stool with a hand knitted cover, no doubt made by a Bulgarian Baba.

Sunday Anglers on Yambol's River Tundzha

It is Sunday afternoon and the fishing season started so no surprise to see two very happy anglers on Yambol's River Tundzha trying their luck for dinner tonight. However, today wasn't their lucky day, despite much time no fish caught on this session. 

A Weir On the River Tundzha

If you walk to the North End of Yambol's City Park and follow the Tundzha River North bound after just 500 metres you will arrive at a weir. This is a favourite place for Yambol folk to fish. You can see numerous fish jumping up trying to get on the higher level of water, but always failing with the water currently not too high. Lovely place but too noisy for me over time with the constant sound of the crashing water.

A Fishing Tackle Shop In Yambol

Generally speaking I don't like going shopping, but there are a few exception to visiting some shops. This is a shop that I find of deep interest. It is a fishing tackle shop and holds a wide range of fishing equipment including live bait and more importantly local knowledge on fishing in the area.

Yambol Tundzha River

Still in the town of Yambol, but just on the outskirts is the River Tundzha. Here you see many Bulgarian people fishing before and after work. The wildlife here is also little know, but for me a major distraction when driving past.
