Yambol Police Station sits basking int he sun today. Always nervous taking pictures in this area as I got accosted here many years ago just doing that, the Police thought I was a spy!
Yambol is not the prettiest City in Bulgaria, but it does have a unique character which is now in the process of being captured by camera. What you see now in Yambol will be short lived in a world of change, especially with the EU strangling the heart and soul of Bulgaria's culture with directives and uniform regulations.

Escalators in Yambol
These escaltalors are located in the brand new Yambol Shopping Centre opposite the main police station, I got to have a go on them this evening. They are the second moving stairs to be installed in new shopping complex in Yambol. The first was in the new Billa supermarket and Technomarket next to the Tundzha river. I saw a few shoppers not quite sure how to use them and kids innocently playing around going down the rising steps - all great fun. Whilst I was there using them the system broke, it may well be that the builders who installed them hadn't done this before.

Yambol Lada Estate Police Car
Contrary to being told by a policeman many months ago that there are no Lada police cars anymore I caught site on one today on this sunny but much colder December afternoon. It was parked in the police headquarters car park. Why would they tell me that there weren't any more? Well at least this time I wasn't reported and taken in for questioning for taking pictures. By the way I personally think that this is a fine looking police car and a one for the archives.

Yambol Police Station
The massive police station in Yambol. the lady walking towards the building reported me for taking this picture and I was approached two policemen in plain clothes moments later. Luckily I could explain in Bulgaria why I was taking the pictures for my picture blog. Afterwards, they explained their disappointed as they thought I was a reporter for a newspaper!365bulgarianadventures

Dumped Car
This old car has been parked here for as long as I have lived here. I see it day in day our year after year. It hasn't budged with it's obsolete number plate and vegetation growing around. It is strange no on does anything about it, especially so as it is parked just outside the Yambol police station!365bulgarianadventures
