Once again, that recipe for Skalitsa Banitsa was viewed and the result was this magnificent banitsa. The countless times it has been made both in Skalitsa and Yambol and never fails......
Yambol is not the prettiest City in Bulgaria, but it does have a unique character which is now in the process of being captured by camera. What you see now in Yambol will be short lived in a world of change, especially with the EU strangling the heart and soul of Bulgaria's culture with directives and uniform regulations.

Skalitsa Banitsa Made in Yambol
It rained all day in Yambol, so most people spent more time in the kitchen cooking. Here was no exception produce the Skalitsa Banitsa, a recipe picked up in the village of Skalitsa many moons ago but made in Yambol today.

Skalitsa Banitsa - In Yambol
The recipe has been around for a while and it tastes as good as it always did, even though made in Yambol not the village of Skalitsa. Each week they are made without fail as too much of a good thing is bad for you. If you want the recipe you will have to Google 'Skalitsa Banitsa', you don't have to buy the published recipe book '100 Simple Recipes From Bulgaria' or my previous publication 'Simple Treasures in Bulgaria' which also contain it. Load of other food sites have copied it by the way!!! Al this aside, yum! yum!
