It is unusual to see vine supports without vines in Yambol, especially when the adjacent buildings are being lived in. They are normally tended by locals. Maybe new saplings in the spring?
Yambol is not the prettiest City in Bulgaria, but it does have a unique character which is now in the process of being captured by camera. What you see now in Yambol will be short lived in a world of change, especially with the EU strangling the heart and soul of Bulgaria's culture with directives and uniform regulations.

Dormant Vines under Snow in Yambol
Mid-winter and amongst the thousands of grapevines in Yambol it is natures miracle that fine grapes arise from what is seemingly deadwood. Dormant vines under snow in Winter is like a grape graveyard now, but a little warm weather and life will return.

Symmetrical Styled Garage In Yambol
The equlilibrium of the two shapes in the stone work took to my eye as this symmetrical form is in place surrounding this garage in Yambol. Notice the rug out to dry above and the vines invading on the left wall, all typical sights you will see walking in the streets of Yambol.

A Fine Vine Outside A Yambol Apartment Block
There will certainly be grapes to eat and wine or rakia to drink in the community with this fine vine growing outside this Yambol apartment block. A common sight to see all over Yambol, where there is space crops will grow. It also provided a good shelter from the hot summer sun.

New Vines Planted Out In Yambol Streets
Growing you own grapevines out on the public street is common in Yambol. The art is still very much alive with new vines planted out recently on the public street new the main hospital. It is quite refreshing to know that these vines will be here in 20 years time giving grapes which I bet have wine an rakia in mind.

Grapes Gathering in Yambol Town
I just love walking along the streets of Yambol, every house and home has something interesting to show. this luchtime my walk took me past a home with vines, (ever house has them). The grapes were being pick as I paused for the photograph. Being Bulgarian they saw me, climbed down the ladder and handed me over a couple of bunches of grapes to take home. This is normal here and by golly were they sweet!365bulgarianadventures
