Yambol's 'Little Chef' Restaurant

Today I was in the Diana area of Yambol where the distinctive 'Little Chef' model outside a restaurant on the main Yambol to Turkey trunk road. The Bulgarian flag is always flying in all weathers. Never been to the restaurant, maybe one day.

Another Statue Of Yambol's Goddess Diana

There are many statues of Yambol's favourite Goddess Diana. Today I found another one tucked away in a little park facing the main road away form the pedestrian path so not many people see in on foot. I do believe there was a javelin or spear in here left hand, another form of hunting of course from the hunting Goddess. No hunting dog with her this time.

A Fearless Yambol Cat and Diana's Hunting Dog

A Fearless Yambol Cat and Diana's Hunting DogA Yambol cat crossed my path as a walk took me toward Yambol's Diana Park. It was heading towards Yambol's favourite Goddess Diana's hunting hound. Undisturbed by the sight of this threatening Kanine, the cat just strolled past unabated. I just found this quite a strange moment as I stood and watched this happen.

Yambol's Greek Goddess Diana - A Different Pose

Yambol's Greek Goddess Diana - A Different PoseWe have already had one picture of the Greek Goddess Diana and her faithful hound in the Diana Park which is named after her. This time however there is no hunting in the snow. Here she is again situated on the south side of Yambol City just inside the dual carriageway ring road. She is such an elegant figure with almost a gymnastic pose with here bow. Dogs will always be dogs as this hunting kanine looks in readiness for the hunt.

The Greek Goddess Diana in Yambol's Town Park

Teh Greek Goddess Diana in Yambol's Diana ParkWe decided to go for a walk in Yambol's Town Park today. As we plodded out way through the snow we saw the Park's permanent guests, the Greek Goddess Diana's statue and her hunting dog astride. The Bulgarian's have adopted her as an emblem of Yambol, perhaps because they are so fond of hunting here. It is a fine bronze statue of bronze that stood out in the white background of snow. Yambol's Town Park is such a lovely place to be even in below zero temperatures and half a metre of snow.

Greek Goddess Diana's Dog in Yambol

Greek Goddess Diana's Dog in Yambol
Diana the Greek God of hunting is a favourite daughter of Yambol. She can be seen in many places but today I caught site of her dog. Diana was nowhere to be seen. The building where the dog stood was being renovated so I presume Diana will return on completion to rejoin her companion who waits obediently.
