Some graffiti artists have taken the time to draw some covid-related artwork on a wall in the centre of Yambol. I find it quite appropriate.
Yambol is not the prettiest City in Bulgaria, but it does have a unique character which is now in the process of being captured by camera. What you see now in Yambol will be short lived in a world of change, especially with the EU strangling the heart and soul of Bulgaria's culture with directives and uniform regulations.

Obscene Graffiti Remains on Yambol Walls After 15 years
When I first Arrived in Yambol 15 years ago back in 2006, I remember this obscene graffiti. It still remains for some reason. Why?

Graffiti Of Old Remains in Yambol
Having been spray many years ago this graffiti of old remains in Yambol. There is no incentive to scrub these walls, besides it will just be abused with graffiti again if it was.

Telephones Replaced by Graffiti in Yambol
There used to be a row of old public telephones here in Yambol. This graffiti now replaces them and as you might figure out, this was done in 2017.

Scary Graffiti in Yambol City Centre
There is something quite scary about this graffiti art in the Centre of Yambol City. Yet the smile given takes the edge of the evil somewhat. Come what may people can't take their eyes off it when passing as she casts a spell over us.

Graffiti Art on Canvas Rather than Walls in Yambol City Park
Much more pleasing to the eye seeing graffiti art on canvas rather than illegally sprayed onto walls in the middle of the night. These examples shown are displayed in Yambol City Park, always a favourite venue to show of works from local Graffiti Artists.

A Locked Gate Blended in Graffiti in Yambol
This just caught my eye in terms of the two components blending well together. The locked gate and graffiti background just compliment each other. Both are ugly on their own but but create a little beauty together I feel.

A Sealed off Entrance to one of Yambol's Apartment Blocks
After this entrance to an apartment block was sealed off, the scene inevitably was subject to graffiti from locals. Not pleasant to my eyes but at least it is not violently vandalised. I quite often see children sitting in the entrance just talking and eating their lunches during school break times.

Swastikas Still Seen in Many Places in Yambol (Ямбол)
There is a section of Yambol (Ямбол) folk who have Neo-Nazi tendencies. Proof of this is shown in Yambol with graffiti displaying swastikas seen on walls. Very distinctive and insulting, but that's freedom of expression I guess and somewhat tolerated here

Graffiti Statement in Yambol - A Mystery to Most
There are lots of graffiti in Yambol, most are statements easily understood, but this one has me baffled. Guess to many it makes sense, namely to those who composed it and their circles. Not a fan of graffiti by any means, but have to live with it in this day and age.

Block 51 In Yambol
Today is the turn of Block 51 in Yambol. With a slight bit of graffiti on the side, most dispise here give the impression of being a rough part of town. This is not the case as most of the recent featured blocks are in one of the best and most sought after residential areas of Yambol. American influenced graffiti get in everywhere unfortunately.

Yambol's Block 17 Enhanced By Graffiti
Yambol's block 17 is clearly seen here and what a bore it is with the number on its own. So some kids have taken it upon themselves to brighten up the plain old number 17 and give a little company with graffiti. Although not a fan of graffiti, this somehow does lift the atmosphere in this case.

A Yambol School - Now Closed
A school in Yambol that is no longer used is now the subject of English lessons al fresco with the graffiti that has appeared. Probably from ex students of the school no doubt. I find it quite disturbing that schools close down and this is quite common in Yambol

Lanterns Out All Year Round
One a mid-winter day in Yambol the summer lanterns are still out swaying in the unusually mild winter wind in Yambol. These are left out all year round in a high profile public area and are untouched by vandalism in Yambol. I see graffiti all around, but respect remains for property and public utilities theses lanterns included. They will be in use again very soon once spring arrives and evening crowds fill the street cafes again.

A Small Yambol TicTac Shop

This small TicTac shop is in the Borovits area of Yambol and I pass it everytime I walk into the centre. It never used to have graffiti, but that is the new face of Yambol coming out nowdays. I have never seen anyone shopping there in all the years I've been here so I wonder how much money they make each week. It must be enough the running of the shop, but then I know many who are running at a loss and just trying to get throgh the recession.

A Yambol Veterinary Clinic

A small veterinary clinic based just south of the centre of Yambol City. I used to live in a haunted apartment only 50 metres away from here and past it every day on the way to work. The graffiti is creeping in again of the sidewall, increasingly so. Such a shame American influence is hitting hard here on that front.

Graffiti Creeps Into Yambol City Culture
Graffiti is slowly but surely creeping in Yambol as more and more is seen as each week goes by. This is an American trend and is a direct result of a saturation of American cultures here pushed aggressively in the media for young Bulgarians - Rap and graffiti just a small parcel left here now. This graffiti is on a stationary shop called Office One in the city centre. I saw the staff there trying to clean it off, but ink is indelible. It now remains a feature of this shop and many others now. This is not street art, but a criminal activity.

Drinking Water
On a very busy public walkway there is a simple drinking water fountain that works all the time. It is used by many passers by and respected. No vandalism, no graffiti, respected and appreciated in the long hot summers in Yambol town. The design is typical Bulgarian totally practical, no need for a fancy fountain. Also why pay for bottled water when this source is a good as any you can get worldwide?
