Yambol (Ямбол) has thousands of trees, many have aged well, but there is a time when they become a liability and have to be replaced with new trees. This is exactly what has happened here to the relief of the homes became vulnerable to damage from falling dead wood.

Formerly the Global Telephone Company which was in bright green, now Telenor Telephone Company with a light blue identity has taken over. This is where we pay our mobile phone bills currently and we wait for another change of company in due course which seems to be the fashion nowadays.

Cinbad Yambol's (Ямбол) Oldest Fast Food Joint

The longest standing fast food joint in Yambol (Ямбол) under the banner of Cinbad with a regular flow of youngsters who frequent the place. Often a meeting and talking place for people as it is well situated next to the bazaar and main pedestrian walk through the centre of Yambol City.

The Ever Popular Sweetcorn Stand in Yambol (Ямбол)

If ever you are a little hungry and just want a quick health snack then this Yambol (Ямбол) sweetcorn stand fits the bill. There is an old lady that serves you but she is supported by a younger man on occasion. Very popular and better for you than the pizzas only fast food joints only 20 metres away.

Non Working Escalators in Yambol's (Ямбол) City Centre

These are the escalators in Yambol's City Centre Shopping complex. If this was a video the picture would remain the same as the escalators are no working. Can't really recall many times when they are working to be quite honest, not sure whether faulty or just saving energy. In al instances the place doesn't attract many customers anyway so not a great inconvenience.

There are many branches of Vilton in Yambol, (Ямбол), this is one of them. You know where you stand with this supermarket with reliable home grown service and product. It is nice to know that is is a Bulgarian firm serving Bulgarian people which is refreshing with the domination of German superstores trying to strangle out Vilton any way they can.

The Closed Down Yambol (Ямбол) Business Centre

Base in The Basement in Yambol (Ямбол)

Well they call it the Base for good reason, it is in the basement under the road. Never been down there as it looks like a place for young people after dark.

A Dove From Above Sign in Yambol (Ямбол)

This monument made up of doves and an olive branch doesn't exactly hit you in the face dynamically. What is does though it give a very calming feeling with it's soft coloured metal and message given over. I would say many people walking past don't even notice it as the metal is life a mirror and is almost camouflaged with the reflection of the surround as you can see in the picture.

A front view of City Centre Yambol where there are an array of designer shops inside. Never seen this place busy at all, but convenient as they have a free toilet use there! Only been in their once this year, and that was to spend a penny. Can't be doing with designer stuff prices.

Piles of Leaves Gathered Up for Collection in Yambol (Ямбол)

After the women have swept up the leaves into numerous piles all the way down the road, they are now left for collection by the men on their trucks in due course. A common sight this time of year.

A Cosy Bed for a Yambol (Ямбол) Dog

Not a conventional bed for a dog, but he fits like a glove under the grapevine on a bed of leaves as a mattress. Looks very cosy indeed there and didn't mind having his picture taken.

Tree Cutting in Progress in a Yambol (Ямбол) Suburb

There comes a time where trees become a liability. With so many trees in Yambol this has to be done on a selective basis as here. There has been damage to property with the aged trees which are now being cut down. Shame to see them go, but will they be replaced. We will see over the next few days and weeks.

Grapes Fermented and Ready for Rakia Making in Yambol (Ямбол)

It is rakia making season in Bulgaria with the grapes being fermented out to go on an be distilled into the National Bulgarian drink Rakia. This was seen on the street where the hydrometer showed zero meaning all the sugar has been converted into alcohol and ready to take to the Rakia making stills in homes and rakia houses scattered around the country.

Appropriately Placed Shop Advertising Board in Yambol (Ямбол)

With a hole in the ground from a dislodged paving slab the shop decided to appropriately place their advertising board over it. Sensible or what?

A Nice and Well Looked After Yambol (Ямбол) Childrens' Playground

It is no surprise that Playground's are looked after in Yambol (Ямбол). Many are not in good condition solely because of the age and wear from extreme weathers, never from criminal damage. this one will last for decades and the children's' children with use it in the future

An Apartment Block in Yambol's (ямбол) Stara Planina

Living together in an apartment block for many is not their choice of home. However, it is home to thousands in Yambol who are very happy they have a place to live that is warm and economical to run. This block is in a decent area of Yambol, well looked after and only five minutes walk fro the Centre of Yambol (ямбол).

Attention to detail and safety in Bulgaria is sometimes hard to find. In this instance it is a gem with this no entry sign on the nearside of Yambol registered trailer. It lights up as well which is a bonus. however will other driver adhere to the warning?
