Seedling Nursery By Yambol's River Tundzha

Seedling Nursery By Yambol's River Tundzha
On the south side of the River Tundzha there are flood plains. The soil here is great for crops. On this particular patch there is a seedling nursery, which is now are well into their second crop this year. It is excellently managed in regimental fashion and a treat seeing the tremendous rate of growth each time I pass it.

Buried Bulgarian Roses

Buried Bulgarian Roses
In the centre of Yambol City you can't see Bulgarian roses as they have been prepared for the winter. They have been had the soil mounded up against them, effectively burying them, to protect them form the severe freezing Bulgarian winter temperatures. Wherever you see roses in Bulgarian they are all pruned and covered over like this. They won't be uncovered intil April when all the nature wakes up and springs to life. The roses are soon to come out of hiding and treat Yambol to a feast of colour and scent.
