It was with great interest that I saw additional table and chairs laid out in the little park area of Yambol where the local community meet each evening. They play cards and chess here and of course need a raised playing area and seats facing each other. It is an old cardboard box and a couple of rocks that are used, how practical. These are left over night safely and will not be moved by rampaging teenagers, how nice to know that they will still be there the following morning untouched.
Yambol is not the prettiest City in Bulgaria, but it does have a unique character which is now in the process of being captured by camera. What you see now in Yambol will be short lived in a world of change, especially with the EU strangling the heart and soul of Bulgaria's culture with directives and uniform regulations.
