Tucked away out of sight, the Yambol Bus Station public toilets don't do a roaring trade from the men of Yambol. I will tell you why. Most men, including myself, take a short walk toward to the Tundzha River and relieve ourselves by the back of a building (the police head office building as it happens!) I know as the smell is so distinctive there. The price of using the public toilet is 30 stotinki and having accidentally walked into and used the ladies toilets some four years ago, I wasn't impressed with the hygiene of the place, but that may just be the ladies of Yambol!
Yambol is not the prettiest City in Bulgaria, but it does have a unique character which is now in the process of being captured by camera. What you see now in Yambol will be short lived in a world of change, especially with the EU strangling the heart and soul of Bulgaria's culture with directives and uniform regulations.

Martyn yes, I'm a bit reluctant to use certain public toilets here too although to be fair they are not that bad. They are free in most places or 3 Baht (6p) if not.
