Pedestrian Walkway Rakovski Street Finally Opens in Yambol

Pedestrian, Walkway, Rakovski Street, Opens Yambol,

At long last the pedestrian walkway, namely Rakovski Street has opened. As far as the eye can see this walkway will bring pleasureful traffic free walks and cycling for many years to come. This turns Yambol into a more beautiful place to visit and I'm glad I'm part of that.

Georgi Rakovski Street - Yambol's Proud Pedestrian Way

A dogs' view of Georgi C Rakovski Street, one of the most pleasurable walks you can make in the City, no vehicles bar bikes, roller skates and skateboards. Very much a Cafe society atmosphere here for at least 1 km ahead.

Bad Yambol Drivers - More Evidence

You have to be here to believe what you see on the Yambol roads and the drivers that have no road sense whatsoever. This picture is more evidence of this. I really don't know how any car can not stay on the road and not drive at speed on pedestrians pathways where this sign once stood. Do you think I am surprised? Your right, I'm not.

A Filled Hole In The Road In Yambol

A Filled Hole In The Road In Yambol
When Yambol’s roads need repairing and they often do, there is no provision for traffic to be diverted or warned of the work going on. This is a classic example right in the middle of the road. No problem though car that approach just drive on the pedestrian walkway. It works here in Yambol and other town and cities because the cars travel at a snails pace on the side roads die to the condition of the roads and there very little danger of hitting pedestrians, there is enough time to just walk out of their way.

Puddles Galore in Yambol

It only takes a light shower to create big puddles in Yambol where the streets drainage system just doesn't exist. It is a good thing however that Bulgarian drivers do have consideration when driving past . They almost always slow down on the approach to a puddle that could potentially soak pedestrians to the skin when passing by. Luckily there isn't too much rain here and when there is it dries up really quickly in the heat of the spring, summer and autumn.
