It will be someone's job to solve this cobblestone jigsaw puzzle seen today on a Yambol street. Small road repairs such as this are common and there is no rush to get them done.

Cobblestone Rubbled Roads in Yambol

It is not surprising that not many pedestrians are killed on Yambol roads. Looking at this cobblestone rubble on one of the streets required driving slowly to avoid car damage. Speed kills and that is tricky with roads like this.

Cobblestone Solves Downpipe Issue Economically in Yambol

Cobblestone, Downpipe, Issue, Economically, Yambol,

Sometimes some things I see are so typically Bulgarian and this is a fine example. A simple cobblestone placed under a downpipe solves the issue economically. No need for brackets and screws. This has worked for many years looking at the dated downpipe.

Cobblestone Maestro in Yambol

Cobblestone, Maestro, Yambol,

Yambol streets are bound for kilometres laid with cobblestones. Tried and trusted cobblestone Maestros are responsible for maintaining these identifiable characteristic roads that make Yambol what it is. Without them it would be boring tarmac and speeding traffic with more accidents from this.

Typical Cobblestone Yambol Street

Each year that passed you would think that the streets of Yambol would be modernised as many are made of cobblestone. Not to be! these Yambol cobblestone streets are durable and long lasting, require little maintenance and deter speeding with the nature of the surface. Long may they live!

A Boneshaking Road In Yambol

It is a fact that Yambol roads are in disrepair, but even when in good condition there remains the boneshaking experience. The reason is simple, cobblestones just give that affect. Thousands of nuts, bolt and wiring has been displaced due to cars running on cobblestones. Designed for horses and donkeys it remains the scourge of the petrol driven vehicles yet more cobblestone roads are being made due to their durability.

The New And The Old On Yambol Roads

It is a typical sign of the times where old cobblestone roads are now being reintroduced as the tarmac just doesn't last. Much of the tarmac is coming off and cobblestones remain - such a good idea and of course purely practical and essentially Bulgarian.

Another Beautiful Yambol Cobblestoned Street

It is a common sight in Yamboll where the streets are patterened by cobblestones and the sight never fails to inmpress. Far better than boring black tarmac that just can't live with the extremes of weather we have here. Cobblestones also slow cars down which is a good thing!

Pavement Garden

Pavement GardenThis is a Yambol cobblestoned street which has a paved walkway on the side. The owner of the house where it runs by decided to dig up all the paving stones and set up a growing area for more vegetables. Most people walk in the road and don't use the pavement, so it is not doing any harm and lets be honest the vegetable patch is in better condition now that what it was before!

Yambol's Cobblestoned Roads

Yambol's Cobblestoned RoadsTypical cobblestone made roads of Yambol with a big arching cambers. The ill-fitted drain and huge potholes are all part of the unique character of these roads. Furthermore, the number of accidents with pedestrian is negligible due to cars having to go at a snails pace.
