 There is no doubt that buying tomatoes from the supermarkets has taken a tumble in recent weeks. Tomatoes galore in Yambol from gardens and surrounding villages are all shared by families which is how it always has been. These will be jarred up and stored for winter.

Usually you will find rubbish that has found its way through the grates into the basement. This of course turns into compost eventually so jungles are formed as no weeding takes place. I'm suprised that there are not tomatoes growing out of their knowing Bulgarians and their ideas for growing food.

Renewable Wood Resources in Yambol Town Centre

Trees are used all over the country in Bulgaria for many things, even in town centres the resources that trees provide are taken advantage of. This particular tree has its branches sawn off ever year and used for supports for tomatoes and other vegetables, then used as firewood for heating. The tree looks poorly right now, but next spring it comes back to life and provides more resources. How good it is to know that this renewable source of wood and does no harm to the environment.
