 There are a few vending machines around Yambol where you can buy village unpasteurised milk. It is slightly cheaper than UHT milk in the shops.

Road Out of Stara Reka Village Near Yambol

 Driving along the road that leads out of the village Stara Reka, it looks like snow clouds in the distance which has just consumed the sun. The village is only three kilometres from Yambol and probably the nearest village.

Yambol's Wood Stocks Supplier

On the outskirt of Yambol just across the Tundzha River southwards you will find olne of the wood stock suppliers where hundreds of Bulgarian buy their winter fuel for their wood-burners. It is cut and sold in 1 cubic metre loads with a delivery service to hand. It is more expensive than the local village wood bought through the local mayor, which is what I do to save on transportation and costs. Current prices here are around 50 leva per cubic metre it goes up every year much to the discontentment of Bulgarians. By the way, security dogs guard the area and it is dangerous to walk around there out of working hours.

Yambol City From A Distance

This is Yambol seen from a couple of kilometres out on the road to the big village of Roza some 10 kilometres firthe up the road. You can sse the hill where the TV mast is situated at the top and the Borovets Hotel half way up the hill. This is the road I take to Skalitsa (37 kilomtres away) each weekend.

Yambol's Museum Statue - A Thoughful Woman

Another day another statue outside Yambol Regional Historic Museum. This is another female deep in thought. By the style of the dress she is wearing it looks like a village woman, perhaps waiting for her husband who is out working in the fields. She looks worried and pensive, then I noticed there is am incaved heart shape on her chest. It's all a bit too mysterious to me right now. Perhaps answers might be in the museum if make a point of going in.

A Road Worthy Trabant in Yambol City

This 600 cc two stroke cylinder Trabant was spotted in the outskirts of Yambol. Even without one headlamp, it still runs around Yambol and is accepted that these 'handicaps' are normal on Trabant cars. It least it has a licenced number plate, in my village the vet has one and it has no lights or number plates and I 've seen him giving our local policeman a lift in it. They are more strict in Yambol City that the villages though.
