The Giddy Heights of Advertising in Yambol

Giddy Heights, Advertising, Yambol,

Ways to get known by advertising are wide and varied as we are controlled by these systems. However, the giddy heights of this advertisement from Mania, a second-hand clothing trader, defeats their objective to get noticed. No one notices it as is too high and not in anyone line of vision. I also think that a strong wind would bring it down, and then they'd get noticed.

Advertising on Drain Pipes in Yambol

Advertising, Drain Pipes, Yambol,

Opportunities to advertise never fail to amaze me. This advertising flyer seen here is pasted on a drain pipe. Commonly seen in Yambol I might add.

Massive, ABC, Builders' Merchant, Advertising, Yambol,

A Bicycle Shop Sign in Yambol

I do get very excited whenever I approach this bicycle shop sign in Yambol. Being a more than keen cyclist I often stop and window shop in the bicycle shop it is advertising. Against the clear blue sky in the warm Yambol weather there is something about the simplicity of the sign that doesn't overkill the promise of expectation in the shop. Needless to say I was on a bike taking this picture.

A Local Yambol Grocer Store - Nestle Ridden

Tis local Yambol gorcer store is somewhere I avoid. Why I hear you ask? Well I cant' stand Nestle and all the prodcut they produce and this store has fallen into the trap of massive advertising on the store front. I real turn off for me and a turn on for the mass who don't know about the evil Nestle company.

A Yambol Cycle Shop

This picture of a Yambol cycle shop, (which is closed on Sundays) was taken from a distance where you can clearly see that the advertising presence covers four levels. The bicycle overhanging on the balcony on the third is a great idea and of course a parking place that takes up no room. Practical means used as always in Bulgaria.

Over The Top Advertising In Yambol

From a distance this looks like the best auto parts shop in Yambol, but don't let the advertising fool you. It is just a little shop with a big façade. I guess the advertising boards are free from the sponsors so why not use them. I like the light bulb underneath the wheel hub although not too sure whether is is weatherproof, or up to EU health and safety standards for that matter. No matter, this is Bulgaria and long may little shops in Yambol live on.

A Yambol Tobbaconist Shop

Cigarettes are going to almost double in price this spring in Bulgarian, so what are the cigarette firms going to do to compensate the drop in sales? Simple put their marketing in you face. This is already in place in many tobacconists and supermarket retail outlets in Yambol with advertising boards and even video screens with cigarette ads being played in prime places where customers wait at the check out. This picture is a typical scene of advertising Victory cigarettes. In fact the shop is actually made completely from advertising materials. There is more than one of these shops in Yambol.

Christmas Advertising Still Out In Yambol

Christmas Advertising Still Out In YambolOutside one of the many 1 leva bargain shops is a poster that is still advertising on a Christmas theme. I'm sure it will still be there for the coming Christmas. And why not it save on poster paper, very colourful and is still in very good nick. Besides there is a white van that parks right in front of it most days so you can't see most of the time anyway!

Old Yambol Tree Signs

Old Yambol Tree SignsIn the same street were I live in Yambol there is a school. Just on the corner sits a tree where I found this old sign saying 'MEN, WOMEN, CHILDREN, HAIRCUTS. I found the other smaller sign advertising a garage for gasoline, repairs and service. The hairdresser and garage are no longer there now. I also caught another Yambol cat to the base of the tree ont he right, it had just paid another regular visit to the big metal wheelie bins only two metres away.

Massive Cigarette Advertising In Yambol

Massive Cigarette Advertising In Yambol
Having experienced big screen video advertising for Marlboro cigarettes in a Kaufland Supermarket a few months ago, there is another advertising campaign on cirarettes for passing traffic in the Yambol roads. These are massive posters and must have an impact on drivers who pass them time and time again. There are new posters going up all the time and cigarettes are the main focus. this particular one is aimed at men as the brand's motto is ,"The Taste For Men". This is directed marketing as it is most men that drive in Yambol. There is of course the madatory warning given in small text at the bottom.

Public Cigarette Video Advertising in Yambol Supermarket

Public Cigarette Video Advertising in Yambol SupermarketThis was in Kaufland Supermarket; this German based company has this in a prime place facing both ways to a public that waits at the checkout. The video runs for around 40 seconds and is of course advertising American made cigarettes 'Marlboro'. Who else would try and reap profits out of a people who are influenced to the hilt from everything American? The only small grace is that Bulgarians will still buy their local brand cigarettes as this particular brand is too expensive. I was accosted by security for taking pictures in this supermarket, but only after this was taken.

Big Ads In Yambol

Big Ads In YamboNothing held back here as the advertising is made on an enormous scale providing some insulation to the apartments at the same time. The residents get a small payment for agreeing to have this there and they are the only people in Yambol who don't have to see it!
