Just before you enter Yambol's City Park on the south side over the bridge, there is an ice cream stall. What better way to enjoy a walk in the park on a hot summer day with an ice cream to hand.

Deserted House in Yambol? - No

This unique house looks deserted, even close up, but there are residents inside, you can just see their washing hanging out on the first floor on the right of the building. It is just begging to be modernised, but how without funds?

A little snack bar in the Stara Planina are of Yambol has recently closed down. What a shame as it served many apartment blocks in the area. Guess disposable income just isn't there when it is cheaper doing snack at home.

Plastic Wheelie Bins in Yambol

Wherever you go in Yambol, every hundred metre or so you will see these black plastic wheelie bins on public roads. They are ransacked by the Roma folk for plastic, metal and other reusable items before the truck come along and empty them regularly. Of course fly tipping goes on with the broken toilet dumped alongside - no claims on this item though.

A Yambol Gymnastic Apparatus

I see many of these metal constructions outside apartment blocks in Yambol. At first I though they were for hanging out washing, but never say any clothing hanging there. It wasn't until I saw Yambol folk, (predominantly young and middle-aged men) doing pull ups as part of a morning or evening exercise work out.

Yambol Tainted With More Credit Advertising

I just can't get away from the advertising for credit in Yambol. you are never further than a stone's throw from an ad hoc ad stuck on a windows, lamp posts and even private cars whose owners no doubt are credit agents. The image of these ads somewhat taints the environment, but that's supply and demand for you.

Georgi Rakovski Remembered - Not Just in Yambol

Georgi Rakovski is remembered here in this image with some flowers in Yambol. He also has a street named after him. Just a little background. He was was a 19th-century Bulgarian revolutionary, freemason, writer and an important figure of the Bulgarian National Revival and resistance against Ottoman rule. He died in Bucharest after leaving his mark in Bulgaria's history. As always, Bulgarians have pride in their history and are reminded in pictures, statues and plaques, not just in Yambol but in most if not all Towns and Cities in Bulgaria of their influential forefathers.

A Sheltered Walk in Yambol City Centre

In the blistering heat of the day with the sun blazing down it is a relief to get shelter from these uncomfortable elements in Yambol City Centre. The ideal solution is to line the street with trees, an idea as old as the trees themselves which have been established here many decades ago.

The Splendid Water Fountains in Yambol City Centre

These fountains have been here for a couple of years now, I can't remember what it was like before they arrived as they are a splendid sight to sit by and rest. In the night they light up with changing colours, worth waiting until dark to see, which many Yambol people do.

Hobi - A Yambol Store Containing Quality German Furniture/Hardware

Hobi is the name of the shop where some fantastic quality second hand furniture from Germany is for sale. Don't be deceived by the shop front, inside is an Aladdin's' Cave. Never knew this was here until three months ago and pop in at least once very two weeks to see new stock. And yes I bought many items here for my home - Why pay more for new inferior products?

(I will tell and show you another similar store later in Yambol.)
