Yambol is not the prettiest City in Bulgaria, but it does have a unique character which is now in the process of being captured by camera. What you see now in Yambol will be short lived in a world of change, especially with the EU strangling the heart and soul of Bulgaria's culture with directives and uniform regulations.

A Quick Shower For Pedestrians On Yambol Pavements
It was a wary man who walked the Yambol streets when it had been raining all night. The reason? Getting showered by passing vans with sitting water on the road. Most drivers take care wheh driving past but even in Yambol the white van driver stikes as you can see. A good job I delayed my walk to that particular place.

A Yambol Tree Covered Car Park

Cars tend to park anywhere in Yambol. That is changing in the city centre with no parking signs going up like there is no tomorrow, but on the outskirts this still happens. The car parked on the pavement has chosen this tree to shelter for the sun. The trouble is that birds often leave a big mess on the car; the driver’s choice has been made though in this case – Cool car, but splattered window screen.

Yambol Tree Planting in Cracks

Typical Bulgarian thinking as I walk past my neighbour's house and find today that there is a tree planted in a crack that appeared in the pavement. Why not?

Bulgarian Parking

Talking of pavements and pedestrians, the Bulgarian just don't have a care in the world about where they park, if it convenient for them fine, for others, hard luck. Her is a typical example of a car parked right across the walkway in a residential street. It's there most of the time as close as he can get to his garden gate. This is perfectly acceptable here, no one complains.
