Yambol's ABC Builders Merchant Entrance

This is the main entrance to the ABC Builder's Merchants. The biggest in Yambol and widely used by thousands of customers, including many expatriates. This just one of many outlets in Yambol from ABC, it really is one of the biggest businesses in Yambol.

Two Arty Business Structures Vacant In Yambol

These structures were built on the outskirts of Yambol and have been left vacant for years. I like the almost 'toy' styled design, which may appeal to the trendy and arty fraternity. Will they ever be used for business? I doubt it somehow with the state of the business climate right now.

A Netted Car Sales Business In Yambol

Across the Yambol road and over the puddle is a car sales business all under netting. A sensible idea as it happens. Not only protection from the strong sun, rain and hailstones, but from the massives of birds that leave their messages from above. A wise investment in view of this but not for the Gypsy car cleaners who are made redundant as a result.

More Sliva In Yambol - A Closer View

More sliva (plums) in Yambol, this time the big interest is in the vibrant colours they show when going through the maturing stage. So many shades to take in it really is a palette of colour in contrast of the green canopy of leaves.

Sliva In Yambol Ready For Picking

It is well and truely rakia time in Yambol as the sliva (plums) are at their ripest. They will be shaken out of the tree and made into wine then processed into rakia in the distilling houses scattered around. I can't wait to sample my own in a month of two when ready. It is a very good year for sliva crops this year.

Bright Yellow Weeds In Yambol

On many occassions the flora in Yambol just send out real beauty, even from unwanted growth on the side of the road. Weeds are of course defined as plants growing where they are not wanted so is this a weed? The yellow blooms are far too nice to cut down, but it will be eventually as it is not wanted where it stands.

A Yambol Guard Dog In Rubble

This guard dog was seen in Yambol today amongst a load of rubble. Not the most scenic of places but the dog is doing the job of deterring intruders very well, I certainly wouldn't enter the premises with it there. The barking sounds every time a passer drives, walks or cycles past. I'm sure it gets fed and watered regularly as it looks very healthy.

A Landrover Ambulance Parked Up In Yambol

It is a smart looking ambulance that has been converted from a discovery land rover that sits parked in the hospital grounds. With the state of the road in Yambol it is perhaps a wise move to use such a vehicle in this area.

Just A Statue Platform Now In Yambol

This now is just a platform for a statue now. The reasons for the removal of the statue I imagine would be for political reasons. It could however have just been a platform for a statue and the statue just didn't get placed there of course.

A Great Spread Of A Tree In The Yambol Hospital Grounds

This canopy gives a great spread in the hospital grounds in Yambol. This is a nice wooded part of the hospital complex and gives a good place to patient to walk around to aid their recovery, that is if they can walk of course.

Repairs Needed To Yambol's Hospital

There may be many new private hospitals going up in Yambol bu the man municipal hospital needed much investment to repair the crumbling walls. Isn't it always the case that making money out of the health care is more important that looking after the bulk of the population who can't afford private healthcare.

Pumpkin Coming On Nicely In A Yambol Street

This pumpkin was seen growing on the streets of Yambol and coming on nicely. It is often the case that any spare ground is used to grow in Yambol, even if it is common ground or public rights of way. It will still be there when ripe for the grower to pick and not stolen by poachers in the night.

The Old And New In Yambol

The bright as a pin cardiology centre in the background is a sharp contrast with the overflowing rubbish bin in the foreground on the other side of the road. I always find that the numerous rubbish bins are a strong charactoristic that frequents the streets of Yambol.

Ducks Needed, But No Apples On This Yambol Footpath

This is a stretch of footpath in Yambol I often jog along. This time of the year anyone who takes the path needs to duck due to the overhanging trees. Its a pity they aren't apples trees then passers by could easily pick the fruit which would be in easy reach. So it is not only jogging along here but a bit of limbo needed as well!

A Tree Watering Service In Yambol

This tree looks pretty bare so a little canine walking away from the tree has tried to help by giving it a free watering service. I'm not too sure that it will help, but its the thought that counts. This dog of course is not the one that helps Yambol trees by watering them.

Greens Browns And Yellow In Yambol

This may not say much or appeal to many who see it but it just was an interesting palette of colours with the greens and browns in the main and the bright yellow wheely bin to distort the theme. the trees by the way are just very badly trimmed where half have died off as a result.

A Nice Place To Sit In Yambol

There are many nice places to sit and have a rest or talk to people in Yambol, here's another one which is enhanced this time of year with a surround of blossoming flowers. And yes I did sit here after the picture was taken to rest my legs, a very nice break with the scent showering me from the encompassing flora.

A Watch Repair Shop In Yambol

Even if I had ten arms I would still run out of fingers to count the number of shops in Yambol that aren't much bigger than a tardis! This one is a watch repair shop, or should I say hut. The beauty is that the overheads of this and other business like this are minimal and this is reflected in the charges for services to customers. I do wonder however whether watch repairs are necassary as time is not important here.

Scrap In A Yambol Garden

Gardens in Yambol come in all varieties, most grow produce to eat and store for winter but this home stores scrap and one item is a massive chunk of a lorry and living trailer. I just wonder if guests use this sometimes. Not a cucumber or rose in sight in this garden.

Wild Street Flowers In Yambol

It is often the case where spectacular flowers grow on Yambol streets, many of them germinated naturally in the wild. It certainly cheers up the streets and causes me to pause and take a closer look.

A Padlocked Container On A Yambol Garden Gate - Why?

This was seen outside the entrance to a Yambol home today and remains a mystery. Why is this container there and why is it padlocked? I thought it might be for rubbish, but why is it locked up?

Dangling Wires In Yambol

I don't know how many times I see dangling wires in public places when walking the street of Yambol. This is another prime example which I nearly walked into today. Not too sure whether the wire is live, I didn't touch it to find out and nor does anyone else passing it for that matter.

The Yambol Passport Office

This is where veryone in Yambol get their identity cards (Lichna Carte) issued and renewed. It is usually a well trodden rout with Yambol's population of over 50,000 people. Foreigners also have to go the the same place and queue like everyone else. Most people here walk up the steps on the lett hand side as you can see the paving stones at the bottom have worn out with this.

A Little Corner Of Greenery In Yambol

Never mind the bin in the distance, I bet you didn't notice it beacuse of the major attraction of the floral and greenery that prevails. What a lovely contrast to set against the plain grey and beige themed streets and wall.

A Car With No Handbrake In Yambol

I'm not too sure what the make, model or year of this car is but I do know that the handbrake doesn't work. It probably passed its MOT this year anyhow on condition that it take a little rock to place under the wheel when parked up.

In And Out Sign For Yambol's Underground Parking

The underground parking here for the Yambol Business Centre quite clearly marks the in and out signs. I think I have mentioned before most find other places to park as the fee is 1 lev. Why pay to walk a couple of metres? I have never seent his car park anywhere near full although I know it will be used more in years to come with the increase of traffic in Yambol each month.

The Business Centre In Yambol - Another Angle

The new business centre in Yambol still dominates the area. Here is another view form a different angle. There are still may vacant shops that have not been taken up with enterprises. Most shops are fashion clothing for women so I have no real interest there.

A Yambol Town House Backyard

This picture was sneaking from beyond the garden gate. A simple backyard with an outside seating with no sign of fruit or vegetables growing is has signs of a Gypsy home. The roof with its wavy line takes the attention, but I bet it is water tight.

No Windows But Stones In It's Place In Yambol

Well the basement windows in this old town house in Yambol are no longer there so what better way to block the elements than put a pile of stones. It does the job although the presence isn't hat pretty. Typical practical work without an inkling of fashion.

A Yambol Clock Shop

If you want a watch or clock or you have one that needs repairing then this is the place to go. This Yambol clock shop is not the only one around, there are many shops that offer this service, but this one is fromt he old school with a no fuss front facade and a simple sign. Why woyld there be any need for anything flash and showy anyway.

Four Tiers Of Different Structures On Yambol's Horizon

It is with interest that I see the different sturctures lines up in fron of me from this particular spot on Yambol's horizon. Beyond the boundary wall and brown iron gate are the vine trellies. Beyond that rises the town house and to finish off even higher is an apartment block.
